In Swords & Souls: Neverseen, you’re shipwrecked on a remote island, and unknowingly get involved in a struggle between an evil witch and the townsfolk. You will train and join the fight through tactical turn-based battles with a diverse set of characters. Collect or buy equipment from the shop and wield six types of weapons that change your play style in different ways.
What makes the game stand out is its unique level-up system, wherein you’ll play and must win mini-game-like training sessions to gain more power. There are also base-building elements, wherein you’ll upgrade your training grounds to help increase your stats and XP gain. Having said all that, the gameplay is quite grindy since progression is slow, which contributes to the feeling of repetitiveness over time.

Overall, despite its unique focus on training to level up and grow stronger, Swords & Souls: Neverseen offers a fun but shallow experience. That is compounded by the slow progression and lack of depth to the combat. It’s still a nice game all the same, just don’t expect too much out of it.
